The Future Shape Of Sound free-styling, retrotastic debut album Mad DNA Mud is a mixture of psychedelic Blues, Bowler Hats and 60s hiphop.
It is: Space Age Gangster Soul!
The album was recorded at Space Eko Rec Studios, London by main writer/producer/instrumentalist Alex McGowan and the Future Crew featuring singer/rapper/writer Big Daddy Kai, singer/rapper/street diva Nomtai, singer/songwriter/producer Justin Stones, up&coming singer/songwriter Nuwella, future blues legend Son Of Dave (ex-Crash Test Dummies) and the legendary Earl Okin. (If that doesn't sound like a diva collective I don't know what does...) The live band is completed with Jack Cowens on drums and Arnie Hjovar on bass.
After having played many London shows and various successful tours in Europe and Russia a second album is currently in the making due for release in 2010...
Alex other collaborations include Martina Topley Bird (album Quixotic, nominated for a Mercury Music Prize in 2003). Son Of Dave, Tricky, Josh Homme (QOTSA), Stewart Copeland, JJ Jecalik (Art Of Noise), Duncan Bridgeman (1 Giant Leap), The Starseeds, PJ Higgins.
